Ticket to Work
The Ticket to Work offers you choice in receiving support to find or maintain employment. Your Ticket is assigned to an Employment Network (EN). In turn the EN assists you in seeking services you need to move into employment.
While your Ticket is assigned to and EN you are protected from a Medical Review from Social Security. This protection may last for up to 5 years while your Ticket is in assignment and you are making Timely Progress. The chart below shows how Timely Progress is determined.
You have the right to withdraw your Ticket from assignment to an EN. Withdrawal may result in a Medical Review if you choose not to reassign your Ticket and/or fail to make Timely Progress.
Ticket assignment to an EN is an agreement between you and The EN to each meet certain responsibilities as defined in an Individual Work Plan (IEP). The IEP is your roadmap to reaching you employment goal. The responsibilities of the EN will be outlined in the IEP. Your responsibilities are also outlined in the IEP and include making Timely Progress as outlined in the chart below.
Timely Progress is defined differently based on whether you are working or continuing your education. The chart clearly shows how to determine whether or not you are making Timely Progress.
Work closely with your EN to ensure you continue to meet your goals.
Work closely with your Work Incentive Planning Assistance (WIPA) program to understand the Work Incentives available to you as you move toward your employment goal.
